Press release:

An engineering company in Redruth, Cornwall is bucking the trend by employing more staff to support growth. WES Hardmetal Engineering, based on the Treleigh Industrial Estate, has just taken on marketing graduate David Hyslop as a Marketing and Business Development Assistant. David is working alongside James Gazzard, Marketing Manager, to oversee business development the expanding energy markets. David joins the team at WES, who make bespoke hard metal parts for a range of sectors from oil and gas to renewable energy, through the Unlocking Cornish Potential Scheme, UCP supports businesses in Cornwall to employ graduates on 12 month projects.

James had this to say about the appointment, ‘David is one of the brightest graduate talents around and we’re really pleased to have him on board. I joined WES through UCP four years ago and they really supported my development. It’s great for me to have grown the role to a point where I need help and give another graduate the chance to make a difference in a Cornish company.’

The company retains its place at the forefront of the industry - and ahead of its competitors - through constant investment in state-of-the-art machinery and in on-going training of both skilled personnel and apprentices. In 2010 the company supported 4 apprenticeships and is looking to increase numbers to 10 in 2011. David joins a team of sales professionals that cover all of the UK.
